Randy Quartieri – Pro Tour Rider and BFTS Hopeful – “4th of July Run”

July 8, 2010

So far the fourth of July run has been a success. In Wimberley tonight I was 84.5 in the long round and 85.5 in the short round. I ended up 3rd for the first part of the week and feeling good. The weather down here is cloudy and rainy but not stopping any of us from getting on.

Tomorrow is Rocksprings looking for Some more good rides.

Back in New Mexico from the fourth of July Run, and had an awesome time. I won a pretty good check in Wimberley so that was a plus. Rocksprings and Giddings didn’t treat me as well as Wimberley but I am thankful I am still healthy and ready to go to some more. I am taking this week off to work a little so I can get out to Salinas California next week. I will be getting on bulls at Travis Briscoe’s and getting on the drop barrel in my free time.

Ryan Dirteater’s Recovery – In His Own Words – “The Comeback”

April 30, 2010

Still counting down the days till July, only two more months left. I’ll be seeing Dr. Freeman on May 10th. Can’t wait to see what he had to say about my release date. The past three weeks have been great, my mom, sister and girlfriend threw me a surprise birthday party at Fish’s Bar B-Que in Tahlequah,OK. I walked in and got a huge surprise!  The food was great and the place was full of friends and family. Physical therapy is going good I am making some progress. When I don’t have physical therapy I go to the gym and workout. I have been working-out at least four times a week. I almost have full movement back in my leg. I have really seen a difference in the past two weeks. I have had a lot of questions about when I’m coming back and if I’m going to be at Tulsa, thanks for all your concerns I’m sorry i haven’t been able to reply to everyone. When I get released, in the beginning im going to hit a lot of touring pros and try to do some good there to knock the edges off . I don’t think I’ll make Tulsa cause it’s a little too soon and quite possible I’ll be a little rocky. When I get back on my game and feel like nothing can throw me off I’ll step up to be with the big boys. Until then I’m going to keep praying and working hard!

Randy Quartieri – Pro Tour Rider and BFTS Hopeful – “Goodbye to a Friend”

April 23, 2010

Back from Canada and came home empty-handed this time. Sometimes that is just the way it goes. I still had a good time up there and had a good experience. Next stop Rapid City South Dakota on the 28th so I am really looking forward to that. In the meantime I will be finishing up my school and start training. I lost a good friend of mine Monday. His name was Jesse Andrus 18-year-old Bull rider from Roswell New Mexico. He was on his way back from a rodeo in Arizona with his buddy Mike Hillman and pulled off in a parking lot to rest. They both died of Carbon Monoxide poisoning from inside their camper. They were great Cowboys and will be greatly missed. Life is to short so its time for everyone to live their life to the fullest with no Regrets.

Ryan Dirteater’s Recovery – In His Own Words – “Easter”

April 2, 2010

First full week of physical therapy, I’m feeling it now. They told me it wasn’t easy, and they wasn’t lying. I’m sore sometimes I can barely get up in the morning. I’m not quitting though! I’m going to keep giving it a 100%. I’ve got to be in top physical and mental shape when I return. I can do all things  through Christ which strengthen me Phl 4:13. Have a great Easter weekend.

Ryan Dirteater’s Recovery – In His Own Words – “Spring Break”

April 2, 2010

I had two of the best spring breaks yet!  My sister Kassey and me went to San Deigo CA, for a week. Our older sister lives out there so we stayed with her. Our older brother came out so we got to spend time with him as well. We went to LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, layed out on the beach and got some sun. When we got back I was home for about a day and left for another trip to spend with my girlfriend on her spring break. We went to the Fort Worth Stock Yards, Billy Bob’s, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, Dallas, did a little shopping, and visited family. Stopped by to see Tandy why I was in Dallas. He said it looks good and not to slack off my physical therapy, I need to do it every day if I want to be back by July. My past two weeks have been awesome! I’ve been going non stop, now it’s back to reality. I start going to physical therapy this week. Now everything is great I’m on the road to recovery.

Randy Quartieri – Pro Tour Rider and BFTS Hopeful – “Car Wreck”

March 29, 2010

On our way back from Missouri me and Ty go in a bad car wreck involved in a semi truck. The truck came into my lane and wrecked us into the wall and proceeded to drag us down the road for 500 yards. The Semi truck totaled my car and we are lucky both me and Ty walked away without a scratch. I think this shows people that you can get hurt doing anything. I have had so many people come up to me and say I was crazy for riding bulls but I feel the most dangerous part of riding bulls is getting to the Bull Ridings. We travel thousands and thousands of miles through out the year so I would say the road and all the crazy drivers out there are more dangerous.

Randy Quartieri – Pro Tour Rider and BFTS Hopeful – “Spring Break”

March 26, 2010

Well I am on spring break from school and loving every minute of it. I have just been relaxing and hanging out here in Odessa, Texas. I got on some practice bulls today and felt solid. Today was a good pen of bulls. Normally we just get on some average bucking bulls but we stepped it up today and go on some good ones. I feel unstoppable right now not only in my riding but with everything I do. Me and my traveling partner Ty Pozzobon are heading to Poplar Bluff Missouri for the touring pro PBR. Our plan is to drive as far as Little Rock Arkansas and find a good place to sleep in the car. We are on a strict budget right now and we don’t mind sleeping in the car every now and then. I just bring my lap top with me and we pop in a movie to watch . We entered twice which means we have a chance to win first and second. Friday night is the first performance and Saturday is the second. I plan on having a blast no matter what because I honestly believe I am living a life that not many people get too. God has blessed my family and me so much with this opportunity I feel like I am on top of the world. This weekend is going to be great and just stay tuned for the results because they will be good.

Ryan Dirteater’s Recovery – In His Own Words – “Brace”

March 9, 2010

The brace comes off this week. I hope it does anyways, because spring break is about here and I have great plans. I’ve been doing some great bike exercises. July will be here before i know it.  I’m sure it’ll be a little rocky when I come back so I’m going to hit the practice pen, then some touring pros. When I feel like I’m ready and riding good I’ll go to some BFT events. I’d like to try to make Tulsa but we’ll just see, if my confidence is high I may ride. Til then I’m going to keep praying and loving life…
